Hippodrome Ljubljana is conceived as a contemporary sports and public complex organised around the specific requirements of equestrian events, spectators and supporting programmes. The spatial concept establishes clear circulation and functional separation between public areas, service zones and facilities connected to the racecourse, while maintaining a strong visual relationship with the open landscape.
The architecture is expressed through elongated horizontal volumes, lightweight structures and a restrained material palette that responds to the scale and openness of the site. Façades and covered spectator areas are articulated through a regular structural rhythm, while transparent and open elements preserve views towards the track and surrounding landscape. The result is a clear and functional architectural identity appropriate to the character of the hippodrome.
